Staying at <strong>Bienville House<\/strong>, just three blocks from Bourbon Street, gave us a perfect base to explore NOLA sights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery aligncenter class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Saturday Evening: Bourbon Street &amp; Beignets<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Arrival:<\/strong> Flew into New Orleans and checked into Bienville House, a charming older hotel with an excellent location in the French Quarter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Evening Stroll:<\/strong> Walked through the bustling French Quarter to soak up the Saturday night energy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pat O\u2019Brien\u2019s:<\/strong> We enjoyed Hurricanes at the iconic piano bar. This local libation was created with rum at Pat O&#8217;Brien&#8217;s bar during World War II when whiskey was hard to come by. The name for the drink came from the glass it&#8217;s served in that resembles a hurricane lamp.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Caf\u00e9 du Monde:<\/strong> Ended the night with powdered-sugar-covered beignets and chicory coffee. Pro tip: there\u2019s no line late in the evening!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sunday: French Quarter Adventures &amp; Jazz<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Breakfast:<\/strong> Started the day with breakfast and matcha at <strong>Fourth Wall Coffee<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Streetcar Ride:<\/strong> Took the streetcar to the French Market station using the <strong>Le Pass app<\/strong> and a 3-day <strong>Jazzy Pass<\/strong> for easy navigation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>French Quarter Walking Tour:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wandered <strong>Royal Street<\/strong>, filled with galleries, antique shops, and street performers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Snacked on pralines and turtles from <strong>Southern Candymakers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toured the <strong>Sazerac House<\/strong>, learning the history of this classic New Orleans cocktail. Bonus, it&#8217;s a free tour with samples!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Riverfront Walk:<\/strong> Strolled along the Mississippi, listening to the lively tunes from the riverboat, before heading back to the hotel for a nap.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dinner at Pesche:<\/strong> We enjoyed a fabulous dinner with smoked tuna dip, baked drum fish with coconut sauce, sticky rice gumbo, and great service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Frenchmen Street:<\/strong> Listened to live jazz at <strong>Three Muses<\/strong> and explored the <strong>Night Art Market<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dessert:<\/strong> Ended the night with coconut ube ice cream at <strong>Thai NOLA<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Monday: Uptown &amp; Algiers Point<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>St. Charles Streetcar:<\/strong> Rode the historic line to Uptown for breakfast at <strong>La Boulangerie<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The avocado toast was delicious, but the cinnamon roll was the star!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Magazine Street Stroll:<\/strong> We burned off the cinnamon role by walking several miles along this charming street, browsing boutiques and galleries along the way, including:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Buckner Mansion<\/strong>, famous for <em>American Horror Story: Coven<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Hotel St. Vincent<\/strong>, a chic hotel and gift shop worth visiting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lunch:<\/strong> Picked up a muffuletta from <strong>Cochon Butcher<\/strong>, a popular local butcher and restaurant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Algiers Point:<\/strong> Took the ferry across the Mississippi to explore the small but colorful neighborhood.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wandered its quiet streets and stopped at an English pub for a pint.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Caught the ferry back at sunset, enjoying stunning river views.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Evening Drinks:<\/strong> Ended the night with tiki cocktails at <strong>Beachbum Berry\u2019s Latitude 29<\/strong>, conveniently located in our hotel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tuesday: One Last Beignet<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Farewell Breakfast:<\/strong> Picked up one last bag of <strong>Caf\u00e9 du Monde<\/strong> beignets to enjoy at the airport before flying home.
